Classic Mercedes models still have fans in Nigeria:
Parts for very old models are getting harder to find, so check availability first.
4MATIC is Mercedes-Benz’s all-wheel-drive system. Many US Tokunbo cars (C300 4MATIC, E350 4MATIC, GLE 4MATIC) have it. It improves grip in rain and on bad roads but adds some running cost.
The most expensive Mercedes cars you can buy are the Maybach S680 and Maybach GLS 600, the new G63 AMG, the AMG GT 63 S E Performance, and armoured S-Class Guard models, all from about ₦300 million to over ₦500 million.
The newest models include the W214 E-Class, the new GLC (X254), the facelifted S-Class and GLE/GLS, the electric G 580, the new CLA (including an electric version), and the updated AMG GT.
Mercedes coupes include the C-Class Coupe, E-Class Coupe (now the CLE), and the AMG GT. They cost a little more than the matching saloons and appeal to buyers who want style over space.
An old Nigerian-used C230 or 190E, from about ₦2.5m–₦3m.
The main lines are A, C, E and S saloons; CLA and CLE coupes; GLA, GLB, GLC, GLE, GLS and G SUVs; EQ electric models; AMG and Maybach versions.
More expensive than Toyota or Lexus, but manageable with a good specialist workshop. Compare with BMW and Lexus.
